Fire Station 3 Renovation

Competitive Sealed Proposals will be opened on November 5 and City staff will then review all submitted documents. The proposals will be put on the City Council agenda for the December 10 meeting. This renovation is to repair the long-term water damage to the facility, caused by a leak that has now been repaired. A mobile home has been placed on-site to house the firefighters during the six-month renovation.

This is where the architect's consultants (structural and civil engineers) begin their work on the project. The renovation will include more space and substantially update the building with new flooring, an enlarged kitchen and sleeping quarters. The project is on track to be within budget. It is estimated it will take about six months to complete, once started.

The City Council will review the renderings, when they are available. The City will announce the location of the future Central Fire Station during the November 12 City Council meeting.

Senior Center

Outside the building, the portico on the east side of the building was completed this week and the exterior painting is almost done. The parking lot will also be repaired prior to the opening.
The City is still on schedule to be completed by the end of the year. The soft opening will take place before the end of the year and the formal ribbon cutting will be scheduled for January or February.
